Rooftops by Wikkid Times
vitaminsexia says: What we have here is some epic downtempo electronic dub. "Rooftops" by Wikkid Times reminds me of something you'd hear Kruder & Dorfmeister remix. Like this and want to hear more? Check it out at the iTunes Music Store.

In Our Talons by Bowerbirds
Robot Coup says: This North Carolina group is making some far-reaching harmonies that send a message to Brian Wilson letting him know maybe he should register at Community College for a refresher course. Not only that, "In Our Talons" is a complete song! Meaning: intro, verse, chorus, bridge. Wrap that with those beautiful lulling melodies that suck you into this we are all one being on mother earth trip, and even a sceptic like myself cannot resist the temptations of the Bowerbirds.

Mr. Brown (Dj Spooky Remix) by Bob Marley and the Wailers
Subverse says: I've always had propensity for the Lee Perry backed BMW songs, and for remixes by DJ's who have the balls to challenge the existing barriers of the craft. So this remix comes as a delayed soaked gift and a simple yet welcome edition to my (horribly out dated) playlist.

Fat Naked Lady by Acid Cabaret
Eternal says: From the compilation, Acid Cabaret, featuring Fat Naked Dancer... Mexican-Latin American sounds with mixtures of Electronica, Jazz, and House music, inspired by the nightlife in Mexico. Imagine darkly lit nightclubs with disco balls, filled with women dressed in high-heeled shoes and fishnet stockings. Now press play...

Mal Hombre by Lydia Mendoza
Moozic says: Translates to bad man. I do not speak spanish, but I'm going to guess that it is referring to something in her past. Lydia Mendoza, the queen of Tejano music must know what she is talking about. She sure sounds like it. Rich and powerful vocal delivery.

Bugahoma Blues by The Balckbirds Of Paradise
Public Domain 4U says: An African American Jazz band from Montgomery Alabama. In the 1920's, that was a testament to the pure dedication of musicians. Philmore Hall, the lead trumpet player, was also the teacher of the famous Dizzie Gillespie. A few members of this ensemble were also part of the Tuskeegee Institute nearby.

Tren Lechero by Francisco Giménez
Moozic says: Francisco Gimenez was born in Villa Rica, Paraguay, a region known for producing great harpists. With only two hands on a 36 string paraguayan harp, his ability to produce fast arpeggios, intricate melodies and beautiful chord arrangements is mind boggling. Unless you play the harp, I would guess. Here is one 4U from Paraguay.

Great White Bull by Akimbo
jesus2000 says: I have a lot of respect for Akimbo's effort on their latest record, Jersey Shores. They show the world that they are far from those tired old musicians who play for 14 year old drunk kids while they show off those deepening lines on their sweaty faces, and strain over the same tired-ass riffs, while their 25 year old Minor Threat tee is held together with 3 rusty pins found in the parking lot before the show. These guys are too skilled, and have way too much class to turn into a cliché of all the groups they left in their dust.

No Dreams by Oakley Hall
American Slag Heap says: The driving drum beat and the wall of churning electric guitars provide the perfect frame for Oakley Hall's boy/girl vocals delivered by Pat Sullivan and Rachel Cox. Even though this band is from Brooklyn, a bit of genuine Southern flavor is heard throughout the length of this track.

Lark (Ruff and Jam’s remix) by Au Revoir Simone
The Night Crawler says: Ruff and Jam add an extra layer of spooky to this song from Au Revoir Simone. Keep in mind, I've done the research and have found that the waves of bass on this track have been known to bust through lead walls when played at high volumes.

Bolomabory by Mamadou Diabate
Moozic says: "In Diabate's hands, the kora proves capable of infinite variation, encompassing delicately articulated structures, swirling eddies of glissandi, pounding, vertical rhythms and roaring cataracts of arpeggio. " I would say the same except that someone already said it. Mamadou is like an angel's flight captured in notes.

1978 - Platform Groove. by Declan Cole
MuzicHunter says: Well now isn't this juicy. A musical and verbal appreciation for the evolution of modern dance music, from Disco on through to the present, with footwear to match! I'm all about this. Nice one, Declan Cole.

Last Of The Bullets by Up The Empire
Skyler says: Remember when all the music I was posting was from Portland, OR? Well, that was then... this is now. Brooklyn, NY is definitely the official new hotbed for amazing independent artists. Up The Empire is another band from Brooklyn, and they immediately grabbed me with their U2-esque guitar riffs at the beginning of "Last Of The Bullets."

Sleeping Heart by Simon Says No!
Madelia says: Simon Says No! is a clever Norwegian band that creates darkly upbeat rock music that is as fuzzed out as it wants to be. Fans of BRMC will dig this.

Clinton Got A Blowjob by Eric The Red Schwartz
Matthew King Kaufman says: It was 2001, when I posted Eric's first masterpiece, "Who's the Bitch Now?" It's gr8 to see an artist really get it. His latest, "Clinton Got a Blowjob" reflects artist growth times ten. Eric has a better handle on his vocals, the theme is even more universal, and he's expanded to video. Go Red Go! Let me be the first to introduce to this gem.

She's Got To Have It by Deep Throat
pootietang says: " With the release of Deep Throat Part I, 1972 marked the year Bible thumpers and porn freaks ate popcorn and dug porn without shame. Deep Throat's rumored mob ties, the infamous Linda Lovelace, and a $600 million gross would change the world forever..." ....and someone had to write the songs. This is one that stands heads above the rest and goes down as one of the best porno soundtracks to ever reach the honorary bootleg status symbol of authenticity.
